I have been in Papua New Guinea for over 12 months now. The friendships and opportunities for service here are incredible. The heartache is real but so is the love. God is still at work among the Kamea people, and I am so blessed to be a tool in the ministry here.
I continue to meet weekly with my youth girls. Each week I give the girls a new question to ponder and discover answers for using only scripture. The following week I give the girls a chance to share the verses they have found to answer the question. After everyone has shared and we discuss the verses, we as a group choose one or multiple verses that best answer the question of the week. Throughout the following week we work on memorizing the verse(s), and when we meet again we review. Each week we review every question with the corresponding scripture lest we forget. We are on question twenty this week. I have thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to memorize scripture and grow in knowledge and love with these sisters in Christ!
The clinic is still in full swing, but more help has come! In May, Emma Stout joined our team here at Kunai. She was a nurse in the States for one year before she quit her job to pursue her desire for medical missions. She has been a tremendous help to the nursing team here and a joy to the Kamea people.
Also, the Lord has called two more interns to join our team here. Laura-Lee Alford and Marie Bell arrived in Papua New Guinea the end of August. Due to excessive cloud coverage over the airstrip, the plane has not been able to land despite multiple attempts, therefore, we have yet to meet them, but expect to soon. We are praising God here for answering our prayers for more missionaries!
As always, I am so thankful for your love and support through prayers and finances! Lord willing, I will be back in the States the end of September. Please pray the Lord will give me peace as I leave this place I now call home, as well as, direction for future plans.
Love in Christ,
Chelsea Moorman
